Marsala was revealed as the Pantone color of the year recently. Although it is a beautiful color for your makeup (thanks to Sephora for the inspiration) and even clothing, it’s just not quite what inspires the interior designer. For us, we trust the color choices of paint companies. Sometimes, the trends might not match up with clothing designers, but these are some our most-loved paint companies.
Rather than the deep red-brown wine color of Marsala, these paint picks are bright colors that are muted and fresh. As the Benjamin Moore team stated, the trend this year is “neutral but natural.” Soft hues of brights are so much fun to play with, and Robin Bond Interiors recently had a client that did exactly that!
Sherwin Williams is one of Robin Bond Interior’s favorite paint companies! This year they did not disappoint with their color of the year selection. It’s more funky than the other selections but we love it. We recently designed a space using similar colors. Coral can be a little difficult to incorporate into an interior space, but with the right colors and tones, it will turn out perfect, such as in the picture below!
Everyone loves a good green. It’s very peaceful and livable for any interior space. Benjamin Moore chooses Guilford Green as their 2015 shade and we couldn’t be more thrilled! This green is easy to work with and is gorgeous for any season.
Robin Bond Interiors is very excited to work with Farrow and Ball. They are so luxurious and high end that we just absolutely love it! We also love that “Cooking Apple Green” is their color pick for 2015. If you know us, you know that we are always cooking up a dish, so even just the name is exciting. Recently, we worked with a wonderful client who is as electic and as spunky as the Robin Bond team! Yvette’s style is unique and it is noticeable throughout her home. Her dining room is our favorite area of the whole house. The soft green really works well in this dining room, who says that we can’t use color in our diner-ware? Our blog is called Wine, Dine and Design after-all!
Playing along with the brighter color paint trend, Pratt and Lambert comes up with one of the most “impulsive and undisciplined” color palettes we have seen. We are loving the bold combinations! This guest room in our client Megan’s home uses some of the “Cadence” colors and it fits perfectly with the 2015 trend!
