February Wine Review: Joy Cellars 2013 Pinot Grigio

Our WINE|DINE|DESIGN February newsletter includes a Deviled Pickled Egg recipe. Russ Donaldson, Director of Wine Shop at Home, recommended a wine that pairs great with the pickled dish.

Joy Cellars Pinot Griogio

Year: 2013
Source:  Paso Robles Region – California

This 2013 is fresh, lively and ready to drink now and for the next two years.  Our Joy Cellars 2013 Pinot Grigio has a very expressive, sweet flower fragrance of hyacinth or iris. The finish has some citrus and spice notes. The attack in the mouth is round with some honey and cantaloupe aromas.

This is a wine to enjoy with Chinese food, grilled chicken, eggplant parmesan, grilled prawns and mild cheeses such as Mozzarella, Swiss or Monterrey Jack.  The sweet characteristic of this Pinot will balance well with Pickled Deviled Eggs!
