Flashback Friday: Spring Antiques Week – Round Top, Texas

Last week Robin and her good friend, Kim Neal co-owner of Austin’s Legend Lighting, hit up Round Top’s Spring Antiques Week in search of unique finds and inspiration.Round Top Antiques

Round Top is a small town (Pop. 93) between Austin and Houston, but  each year in the spring and fall thousands of vendors set up shop for a couple weeks to sell antiques, garage sale goodies, vintage clothing and decor,  hand crafted pieces, food and
more. Tens of thousands of people, including a lot of interior designers, come from all over the world in search of diamonds in the rough.

The 75 mile stretch of Texas highway between Austin and Round Top is breathtaking during this time of year. The medians and surrounding farmland is covered in bluebonnets, castillejas (Indian paintbrush), red buckeyes, yellow daises and pink Texas thistles. The scenery makes the trip to Round Top even more enjoyable!

Texas WildflowersRobin’s currently designing a 2nd floor patio for a loyal RBI client in Austin, so she was on the hunt for a perfectly rustic door or gate to hang on our client’s stucco wall.

Robin & Kim at Round Top After searching all day, Robin found the two antique green garden doors. They are going to look amazing in this space and every patio needs a touch of green!
