Behind the Design: Non-Upholstered Furniture Pieces

With the area rug in place and anchoring the space, the next step behind my interior design process is to add non-upholstered furniture pieces (solid construction furniture without fabric accents).

Christopher Guy Dining Table

I chose this magnificent table from celebrity furniture designer, Christopher Guy, to add opulence to our ultimate holiday dining room. The mahogany table top is custom stained in Guy’s Java Café and the dual pedestal base is colored a glamorous Renaissance Gold.  I use contrasting wooden textures and finishes to add depth and interest in my designs. In this space, the flooring brings a rustic element and the smooth table top adds elegance. Fully extended, this table is 10 1/2 feet long and perfectly suited for the ultimate holiday dining experience.

Ultimate Dining Space Buffet TableThis 72-inch wide, six-drawer and two-door storage sideboard table is finished in a satin-like tuxedo black with gold metallic drawers. Jewelry-like hardware adds a touch of class. The interior shelves are adjustable and perfect for storing additional place settings, chargers, extra glasses and holiday decor. Basically, it can store everything you need to set the table for the ultimate holiday party, adding functionality and convenience.

This credenza can provide a surface to arrange accessories or store them away to make room for your self-serve cocktail bar!

Thank you for designing the ultimate holiday dining space with Robin Bond Interiors! Follow along to watch this space take shape. Next week we’re adding custom dining chairs also from Christopher Guy.
