Toward the end of 2015, we shared a series of interior design trends we are seeing run parallel with fashion trends. This isn’t really surprising to me; in my experience it’s pretty common for interior trends and fashion trends to follow each other. Here are a few more of the latest interior trends that we did not mention in our “From the Runway to Robin Bond Interiors” campaign.
The macrame texture showing up on everything from accessories to light fixtures. I have always been a big fan of this texture and so I am excited to see this becoming more and more popular.
Organic design is really popular right now, not only in utilizing natural and green materials, but also in the shape of interior items like furniture and accessories.
Metallics have been popular for a few years now, but in the past year warm metals like gold, brass, copper and even rose gold have been sneaking their way into the mix, although I can’t bring myself to get on the rose gold bandwagon yet. I’ve just never been a fan of it.
Ethnic Prints, Velvet, & Moire
I can’t say enough how much I love velvet and so I am thrilled that it is popular again. Ethnic prints have been going strong for several years now with no sign of slowing down. Moire fabrics have a fun, almost wood grain, look to them and always make me think of 1980’s prom dresses.
