Breaking Ground: Windows, Doors & Millwork

This house has a very contemporary architecture, and so we opted to use baseboards only and did not use moldings on the windows. To make the home even more unique and give it a little bit of an industrial vibe, huge beams were adhered to the tops of the doorways with giant screws (they looked like railroad spikes!)

The front door is a custom-designed steel door made by local Austin company Durango Door. The end result was the perfect focal point for the front of the house, and is complimented very well by the contemporary steel and wood staircase.
