Setting the Mood: Mysterious

Mysterious, to me, seems to be obvious…the lack of color all together. BLACK. More specifically, black and purple come to mind. This makes me think of eternity, and what could be more mysterious? This is my inspiration for the selections for this space.

This image in your mind can invoke a sense of how huge everything really is. Although my overall color scheme is black and purple, there is also white because beyond the darkness there is always light. This whole series has been rather introspective for me, which is a little bit of a surprise. The images and colors have had profound and different affects on my moods, and that is exactly what I set out to do with this series. I enjoy experimenting and working with different interior colors. My office is black, and I love it! It’s like my own little cocoon, and I used a pop of yellow to inspire and bring me happiness.

Let’s get back to this mysterious room concept. I think this color palette would work well in a master suite, but would also be really appealing in a dining room. This mood board is more so about the products themselves and the mysterious vibes in the black and purple palette rather than building a particular room design.
